Kushel: Finalist for the German Sustainability Award!
As you may have noticed, we were among the nominees for the German Sustainability Award. Now we can proudly announce that Kushel is one of the finalists for the German Sustainability Award Design 2021!
This is a very great honour for us, because with around 800 applicants and 2,000 invited guests from companies, politics, research and the public, it is Europe's biggest award for ecological and social commitment. We find it particularly exciting that the award is also intended to show that responsible action not only helps to solve social and ecological challenges but can also increase competitiveness and profitability.
Here is the jury's reasoning:
"With Kushel, Gustavo Trading sets a new standard in the textile industry. After all, Kushel is the first climate- and resource-positive textile brand in the world. This means that more resources are returned to the environment than are needed to produce the towels and bathrobes. The company achieves this effect by using raw materials such as beech wood fibres from sustainable forestry in Austria and GOTS certified organic cotton. On the other hand, the CO2 emissions generated during production and the amount of water consumed are compensated. In addition, the company plants two trees per product. Production is fair in Germany and Portugal. The bottom line is an ecological balance sheet that is more than exemplary".
